Bratislava to Purbach 37 miles (total miles 71)

Today we set off back into Austria cycling through flat farmland on excellent cycle paths for most of the way.

We had a snack lunch at the swimming pool at Neudorf then on down to the wine growing region surrounding the lake of Neuseidelersee where the skies were starting to darken with flashes of lightning in the distance.

We arrived at the campsite at Purbach and just managed to get the tent pitched and make it to the bar before the heavens opened with a torrential downpour.
Fortunately the rain cleared up in time for us to walk into town for dinner. We stumbled across  great wee square made up of old wine cellars many of which had been turned into restaurants.
We settled on a place called Strommer http://www.kellerschenke.at which had excellent home cooking and great wines at surprisingly cheap prices.

The weather was cooler today although still up to about 27 degrees at times. It is much cooler now with  a strengthening wind which is supposed to come round to the north.  That should  be great for pushing us south into Hungary tomorrow.
